Thanks for telling us about your experience Christine. I hope other readers are encouraged to try juicing and find they can also give up the Prilosec!

I just started juicing green cabbage, 4 cups per day (its about 1 1/2 heads of cabbage and takes alot of work! but worth it!). The first day I noticed I could actually lay down (ok, propped up a foot and a half- but the night before I tried sleeping propped upright against the WALL to sleep, did not work! it was still burning burning burning!)
So, the first night I had very little pain and could actually lay down without dying. I'm on day 4 and most of the pain I had before is gone. I would get these amazingly sharp pains getting out of the car for no reason, and sometimes if I raised either arm. I guess it was BAD!
I am a huge believer of cabbage! A quick note, i used the red cabbage variety on day 2, and it didn't seem to work as well as the green kind. Just an observation.
Good luck! And bye bye Prilosec! Good riddance!

Thanks for taking the time to comment JD. That's an impressive story. Hope the cabbage Vitamin U continues to cure your acid reflux and heartburn. Sounds like a great remedy.

Hi everyone!

My name is JD. I have suffered from acid reflux for years. I had heartburn nearly every day. I went through countless bottles of antacid tablets. I took Prevacid and Cimetidine tablets. All of these things would work to relieve the symptoms, but if I stopped taking them, the heartburn would resurface within days. I'm 27 years old and have had this problem since I was about 20.

About 3 months ago, I discovered Vitamin U while reading material related to fresh vegetable juicing. I read that many gastro/ent disorders were being treated overseas with simple cabbage juice (of the dark cabbage variety) and I decided to give it a shot. I changed nothing else in my semi-healthy diet other than adding a cup of red cabbage juice (high in vitamin U) to my diet everyday. In about a week, the heartburn was completely gone. I mean completely gone!

I moved from my Condo in Chicago to a new house and had my juicer boxed up for a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks later, my heartburn had started to return. I got back on the juice quickly and in 3 days it was gone.

I've read that it's the Vitamin U in cabbage that is doing the trick. Whatever it is, it works! It worked for me! I never go a day without my cup of fresh cabbage juice made from organic red cabbage, and I've not had heartburn since.

Sincerely,
JD Harwell
